The Central Discipline Inspection Commission announced on June 14, that 55-year old Deng Huilin, police chief of the Chinese Municipality of Chongqing is under investigation for suspected “serious violations” of the Communist Party’s code of conduct. South China Morning Post (June 15) said Deng Huilin, who was also Deputy Mayor of Chongqing, took over both roles from He Ting, who was removed from office in June 2017 on corruption charges.

(Comment: Former PB member and 'princeling' Bo Xilai was Party Secretary of Chongqing when he was brought down on charges of corruption and serious violations of Party discipline following his failed bid to capture power.)
