CHINA-ECONOMY: PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENTS APPOINT 'SUPPLY CHAIN CHIEFS'

The government of Nanjing, Jiangsu announced (July 13) that it will appoint eight 'Supply Chain Chiefs'. The Paper (July 13) said each will oversee the supply chain of one of the following industries: Software and information services; New energy vehicles; Healthcare; Integrated circuits; Artificial intelligence; Smart grids; Rail transportation; and Smart manufacturing equipment. Tech hub Shenzhen is also planning its own Supply Chain Chief program and is focussing on a few industries, including integrated circuits and artificial intelligence. It is set to pour money into the core companies of those supply chains.
