Guangming Daily reported (August 16) that the closing ceremony of the annual meeting of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) was held on August 15. At the closing ceremony, the CAST released the 2020 "Major Scientific Issues and Engineering Technical Problems". Preparation of the Report involved 18,800 academicians, experts, and front-line scientific and technological workers, who detailed: what are the characteristics of these problems and problems this year; what scientific research and social impacts have been produced for three consecutive year; and how will these problems and problems be solved in the future? Liu Xingping, Director of the Academic Department of the Chinese Association for Science and Technology, briefed those attending.
