CHINA-INTERNAL: HONGKONG

On Thursday while visiting Hong Kong, Dean of the Tsinghua University School of Law, Wang Zhenmin said in Hongkong on August 28, 2014, that China needs to protect the interests of the city’s pro-Beijing tycoons. He said “Universal suffrage means the redistribution of economic interests amongst society. The business community’s slice of pie will be shared by others. Their interests must be taken into consideration.”

Wang Zhenmin was one of two speakers at an event in Hong Kong discussing the legal framework that will ultimately shape the city’s future elections.
