China's Economic Daily published (August 31) an article by He Yiting, Executive Deputy Dean of the CCP CC's Central Party School and the Director of Xi Jinping's Research Center for Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era, on the recent symposium of experts in the economic and social fields. Elaborating on Xi Jinping's speech, He Yiting concluded by saying "the relationship between social vitality and good order must be grasped, and efforts to achieve order and a high-level dynamic balance of vitality; the relationship between opening up and national security must be grasped. It is necessary to create new advantages in international cooperation and competition with high-level opening up, and to adhere to the overall national security concept during opening up and maintain national security."

(Comment: Born in 1952 He Yiting is a close associate of Xi Jinping's and one of the key political thinkers in Xi Jinping’s circle.  Writing in the Studt Times on June 15, 2020, He Yiting claimed: "The thought of Marx and Engels can be called “19th century Marxism,” while Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought, and the socialism with Chinese characteristics of which Deng Xiaoping Theory was the original principle and chief content, can all be called “20th century Marxism.” Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for the New Era can be called “21st century Marxism.”)
