CHINA-HONGKONG: HONGKONG LEGCO'S DEMOCRAT LEGISLATOR FLEES TO U.K AND HAS BANK ACCOUNTS FROZEN

According to UK media reports former Democratic Party Legislative Council (Legco) member, Xu Zhifeng suddenly withdrew from the Democratic Party and went into exile . The British media "Now" reported that Xu Zhifeng has arrived in the UK. Xu Zhifeng told the media that he had left with a "heavy feeling", but did not disclose where his family is going. Xu Zhifeng confirmed to Apple that 5 accounts of his, his wife's, and his parents were all frozen on December 5. The frozen accounts involved several million yuan in deposits. Xu Zhifeng pointed out that the deposit is his life savings. The frozen accounts of his and his family were in the HSBC, Hang Seng and Bank of China, but he stated: "I will not return to Hong Kong because of my account." Xu Zhifeng has yet to be charged under NSL as is being speculated in Hongkong.
