The State-owned CCTV-4's International News Channel on December 22, telecast a news report that noted the United States had put 45 Russian companies on the sanctions list and will also close the last two consulates in Russia. It said US-Russian relations have 'once again fallen to a freezing point' and that 'Putin asked the Russian army to make military preparations for NATO threats and promptly respond if necessary'.
