CHINA-PLA: PLA ROCKET FORCE (PLARF)'S FIFTH ANNIVERSARY ON DECEMBER 31, 2020

On the fifth anniversary of the PLA Rocket Force (PLARF) on December 31, 2020, Bayi TV, a subsidiary of the Chinese military media "China Military Network," launched five short films, which showed conventional warheads, short-range, medium-range, intercontinental ballistic missiles, and long-range cruise missiles. The short film showed the DF-4, DF-11, DF-15, DF-16, DF-17, DF-21, DF-26, DF-31, DF-10A, DF-100, etc. which are with the Rocket Force, however, the latest ICBMs such as Dongfeng-5B, Dongfeng-31AG and Dongfeng-41 did not appear in the video. The short film also revealed rare footage of the Dongfeng-17 hypersonic ballistic missile. It referred to a report of early December 2020, of the US "Atomic Scientists Bulletin" which stated that the PLA Rocket Force has expanded by more than 30% in the past three years and that the PLA RF currently has 40 ballistic missile brigades, a 35% increase from 2017. Among them, 12 missile brigades are located in the Eastern Theater and the Southern Theater.
