CHINA-US: CHINESE BUSINESSMAN POISED TO TAKE OVER U.S. AEROENGINE MANUFACTURER EPS

A Chinese businessman Hang Wei is poised to take over the recently bankrupted New Richmond, Wisconsin, U.S., aeroegine manufacturer Engineered Propulsion System (EPS) through the Hongkong-based company, HyperMacher that he founded. Engines produced by EPS run on diesel and are reported to be very efficient, silent and suitable for small aircraft and drones. HyperMacher has since April been advertising EPS engines on its website. While Hang Wei is described as an expert in Military-Civil Fusion, HyperMacher's head engineer worked 23 years with AVICS and it lists two Deans and one Associate Dean of China's Northwestern Polytechnic Institute, Xi'an, which has been blacklisted by the US Government since 2001 for its ties to the PLA. Hang Wei initially made investments in EPS in 2013 through an American company that he bought called Windecker Aircraft. HyperMach's take-over of EPS is currently under review with USA's CFIUS.
