CHINA-PAKISTAN: CHINA DELIVERS SECOND TYPE 054A/P FRIGATE TO PAKISTAN

China's Global Times publicised (January 29) that it had launched the second Type 054A/P frigate for Pakistan at the Hudong-Zhonghua Shipyard in Shanghai on January 29. The Pakistan Navy Chief Naval Overseer highlighted at the launch ceremony that induction of the Type 054A/P warships will significantly enhance Pakistan's maritime defense and deterrence capabilities. The occasion coincides with the 70th anniversary of Pakistan-China diplomatic relations. The Pakistan Navy has said that all four Type 054A/P frigates contracted from China since 2017, are being delivered as per the planned schedule. The first ship was launched in August 2020.
