CHINA-LEADERSHIP: CHINESE PREMIER LI KEQIANG CHAIRS STATE COUNCIL EXECUTIVE MEETING ON FEBRUARY 18

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang chaired an Executive Meeting of the State Council on February 18 to listen to a report on the implementation of the proposals of the 'Two Sessions' in 2020, and seek opinions on sustainable and healthy economic and social development. The meeting noted that 8,108 proposals were received from NPC deputies and 4,115 proposals from CPPCC members, accounting for 88.3% of the total and 84.9% respectively. The meeting said that this year's Two Sessions' will be around the implementation of the spirit of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th CCP CC and the Central Economic Work Conference.

(Comment: The 'Big Two', or the CPPCC and NPC Plenary sessions are scheduled to open in Beijing on March 4 this year.)
