The US newspaper 'Stars and Stripes' reported on September 22 that a Chinese surveillance ship has been detected observing the Valiant Shield military exercise, since it began on September 15 in and around Guam, from within the United States’ exclusive economic zone. It said the U.S. actually doesn’t mind. The exercise, which ended on September 23, involves 18,000 servicemembers from the Navy, Air Force, Marines and Army simulating combat against each other.
