A People's Daily article (February 25) titled 'the 50th Anniversary of China-U.S. Reopening the Door of Exchange: Respect each other and seek common ground while reserving differences (prosperous years)' briefly recounted some of the contacts between the leaders of the two countries since 1972. There were two other similar articles also in the People's Daily, one captioned 'International Echo'.
