CHINA-PLA: GUANGMING DAILY ARTICLE REPORTS ON PSYCHOLOGICAL PREPARATION FOR STUDENTS JOINING PLA

A Guangming Daily (February 28) article on the start of recruitment of college students to the PLA, disclosed that military experts and grassroots chief officials had been invited to the Suzhou Jianxiong Vocational and Technical College in Jiangsu Province and other educational institutions to express their views on the mental and psychological preparation required for college students to join the army. Among the experts were Cai Weibin, Political Commissar of the School of Military Basic Education, National University of Defense Technology; Wang Jinxia, Researcher of the Academy of Military-Political Work, Academy of Military Sciences; and Shasha, a battalion commander of a rocket brigade. The Guangming Daily article carried two photographs, one of which was of new soldiers from a border defense regiment of Xinjiang Kashgar Military Division setting foot on the China-Pakistan border patrol at an altitude of more than 5,100 meters for the first time in January 2021.
