The Global Times (March 7) citing video footage released by 'Passion News', a news portal run by the Chinese Communist Youth League Central Committee, said the PLA Navy recently commissioned its second 10,000 ton-class Type 055 large destroyer with Hull No: 102 named after Lhasa. The first Type 055 large destroyer, the Nanchang with Hull No: 101, entered service in early 2020. CCTV reported on March 7, that the new Lhasa destroyer made its first public appearance at a naval base in Qingdao, Shandong Province.
