CHINA-PAKISTAN: NAVY EXERCISES

 The 17th escort taskforce of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) arrived at Karachi on September 27, 2014 for a five-day-long goodwill visit to Pakistan. PLA Navy vessels included the Chinese guided missile destroyer "Changchun" and guided missile frigate "Changzhou" . PLAN Rear Admiral Huang Xinjian, was commanding the Chinese naval task-force. Speaking on the occasion, Rear Admiral Huang Xinjian said 'the peoples of China and Pakistan harbor brotherly affection for each other', and that this visit would further expand the field of exchange between the two sides, enrich contacts and deepen the friendship between the two peoples. He said it would particularly enhance the extensive and in-depth learning and exchange between the two navies will push forward the friendly relations between the two countries, the two militaries and especially the two navies.

 
During the visit, the two sides exchanged anti-piracy experience and organised onshore and offshore joint drills. At the onshore joint drill personnel of the Special Operations Forces of both sides displayed their equipment and conducted onshore joint training.
