A meeting of the Party History Study and Education gave a Report to the Central Propaganda Group meeting on March 20 in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province, where Zhang Shujun, a member of the Central Propaganda Group and former member of the Central Party History and Documentation Research Institute, spoke.  At the meeting, Zhang Shujun systematically explained General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important expositions on the party’s history and the significance of studying party history and education for starting a "new journey of building a socialist modern country and realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation". He gave an in-depth interpretation of "self-confidence" and "two maintenance". About 260,000 people including cadres of party and government organs in Hebei Province, representatives of teachers and students in some universities, and representatives of grassroots cadres and the masses participated in the report meeting. Reporting the meeting the People's Daily (March 21) said Yang Zhongliang, Deputy Governor of the Bank of Hebei, was deeply impressed and said: “As a leading cadre of party members, we must set an example in learning, understanding and doing things, based on the new era, and working hard.”
