CHINA-LEADERSHIP: CHINESE PRESIDENT XI JINPING CHAIRS POLITBURO MEETING ON MARCH 30

The CCP CC Politburo met on March 30 to review the "Guiding Opinions on Promoting High-quality Development in the Central Region in the New Era". Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, presided over the meeting. The meeting pointed out that since the 18th Party Congress, "under the strong leadership of the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core", major achievements have been made in the economic and social development of the central region. Food production bases, energy raw materials bases, equipment manufacturing and high-tech industrial bases, and its status as the comprehensive transportation hub have been consolidated. The meeting emphasized that the central region connects east and west, connects south and north, has abundant resources, developed transportation, good industrial foundation, profound cultural heritage, and great development potential. It is of overall significance to promote high-quality development in the central region.
