CHINA-PLA: LT GENERAL WANG HAIJIANG TRANSFERRED FROM TIBET TO XINJIANG MILITARY REGION

Beijing Youth Daily (April 6) reported that Lt General Wang Haijiang, till recently Commander of the Tibet Military Region, has been transferred and taken over his new assignment in Xinjiang. He accompanied Party Secretary Chen Quanguo and other leaders to the Qingming Memorial Ceremony at the Martyrs Cemetery in Urumqi on April 4. Political Commissar of Xinjiang Military Region Yang Cheng was also present there.

(Comment: Born in  October 1963, Wang Haijiang is 58 years old and a native of Anyue, Sichuan. He has served in the border areas of China for many years and served as the commander of the 61st Division of the PLA and the Deputy Commander of the Southern Xinjiang Military Region. In November 2016, Wang Haijiang participated in a public event as the Deputy Commander of the Tibet Military Region. In December 2019, Wang Haijiang was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-General. In January 2020, Wang Haijiang succeeded Xu Yong as Commander of the Tibet Military Region.)
