CHINA-FOOD SECURITY: STATE COUNCIL MEETING HIGHLIGHTS FOOD SECURITY

Guangming Daily (April 9) reported that the 121st executive meeting of the State Council reviewed and approved the newly revised "Regulations on Grain Circulation Management" (hereinafter referred to as the "Regulations"). Premier Li Keqiang signed the State Council Order No. 740 and promulgated it, which will be officially implemented on April 15, 2021. The meeting said Grain circulation is connected to production and consumption at the other, which is related to food security and people's well-being. The revised Regulations, it said, "adheres to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, adheres to a new stage of development, implements new development concepts, and builds a new development pattern, adheres to the theme of promoting high-quality development, and makes a comprehensive and comprehensive review of the current "Regulations." Systematic and pertinent system improvement has established a grain circulation management system framework that meets the requirements of the new era". It described it as "an important legislative achievement in the construction of a legal system for food security".
