CHINA-LEADERSHIP: CHINA'S LEADERS WATCH SUCCESSFUL LAUNCH OF CHINA SPACE STATION SKY AND CORE MODULE

The state-owned CCTV news on April 29, reported that the China Space Station Sky and Core Module was launched into space and accurately entered the scheduled orbit. Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory message to represent the Party Central Committee, the State Council and the Central Military Commission.  In the message, Xi Jinping said that the construction of a space station and a national space laboratory are important goals for the realization of the "three-step" strategy of my country's manned space project, and important for building a powerful country in science and technology and aerospace. He asked the gathering to vigorously promote the spirit of "two bombs and one satellite" and the spirit of manned spaceflight, be self-reliant, innovate and make new and greater contributions to the construction of a modern socialist country. Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and PBSC member Wang Huning watched the live launch at the Beijing Aerospace Flight Control Center. Politburo member and CMC Vice Chairman General Zhang Youxia readout Xi Jinping's congratulatory message at the Wenchang Space Launch Site in Hainan. Liu He, Xu Qiliang, Xiao Jie, and members of the Central Military Commission Li Zuocheng, Miao Hua, and Zhang Shengmin watched the launch at the Beijing Aerospace Flight Control Center.
