CHINA-EUROPE: 4 EUROPEAN FOREIGN MINISTERS VISIT CHINA
The Foreign Ministers of Ireland, Poland, Hungary and Serbia visited China from May 29 to 31 at the invitation of Foreign Minister Wang Yi. Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said during the visit Wang Yi will separately meet the four ministers and discuss bilateral and China-Europe relations. He added that China hopes the visit can help deepen cooperation and "promote the post-epidemic economic recovery." None of the ministers invited to China are from countries whose parliaments have branded its treatment of the Uyghurs as genocide.
(Comment: Poland, Hungary and Serbia are part of the China-led "17+1" grouping of Central and Eastern European countries.)
