CHINA-BORDER SECURITY: YUNNAN SOCIAL SCIENCES ARTICLE STRESSES IMPORTANCE OF BORDER SECURITY

An article in the 'Yunnan Social Sciences' issue (2/2021) said "China’s border security is challenged by both internal and imported risks". It said in the new era of promoting the formation of a new pattern of comprehensive opening up, border security has become more and more important in the overall national security structure. It said there would be no comprehensive national security without border security. To ensure border security, "it is necessary to strengthen the border military and civilian awareness of the country, land, citizens, national security, national defense, etc.; establish and improve the five-in-one system and mechanism of party, government, military, police and civilian governance of the border; actively manage and shape the surrounding security environment".
