CCTV News (July 12) disclosed that on the 100th anniversary of the CCP's founding, the CCP Central Committee and the State Council issued the "Opinions on Strengthening and Improving Ideological and Political Work in the New Era". The "Opinions" pointed out that ideological and political work is the party's fine tradition, distinctive features and prominent political advantages, and is the lifeblood of all work. It said "strengthening and improving ideological and political work is related to the party's future and destiny, to the long-term stability of the country, and to national cohesion and centripetal force". The "Opinions" stated that ideological and political work "is an important way to govern the party and the country, carry out in-depth ideological and political education, improve the quality and level of grass-roots ideological and political work, promote the upright and innovative development of ideological and political work in the new era, and build joint advancement of ideological and political work".  It added that the "Opinions" make clear that strengthening and improving ideological and political work in the new era should be guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era.
