CHINA-PAKISTAN: PAK ARMY CHIEF GENERAL BAJWA HOSTS RECEPTION IN ARMY HQ TO CELEBRATE PLA'S 94TH FOUNDING ANNIVERSARY

The Chinese PLA-maintained website Sohu.com (July 30) reported the posting on the website of the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan that on July 29, General Bajwa, Chief of Staff of the Pakistan Army, held a reception at the Army Headquarters to celebrate the 94th anniversary of the founding of the PLA with the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan. Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong, Defense Attaché Major General Chen Wenrong, and all the staff of the Military Attache’s Office were invited. More than 100 senior generals from the Pakistani Army, Navy and Air Force and important officials from other agencies attended the ceremony. In his speech, General Bajwa said that under the leadership of the Communist Party of China the PLA has continuously improved its level of professionalization and regularization. He said the Chinese and Pakistani armed forces will jointly respond to various threats and challenges and safeguard common interests. In his reply, Military Attache Major General Chen Wenrong expressed his gratitude to General Bajwa for the special arrangements made to celebrate the 94th anniversary of the founding of the PLA. He emphasized that no matter how the international and regional situation changes, the Chinese military will resolutely defend national sovereignty, security and safety, and jointly maintain regional peace and stability.
