CHINA-EDUCATION: PBSC MEMBER WANG HUNING STRESSES NEED FOR PROGRESS IN POLITICAL WORK AND BUILDING IDEOLOGY IN UNIVERSITIES

Politburo Standing Committee Member Wang Huning presided over the 27th National Conference on Party Building in Colleges and Universities on August 17. He asked universities to“[Make] solid progress on Party building and ideological and political work at higher education institutions, with efforts focusing on the fundamental tasks of building virtues and morality.” Wang Huning stressed that “[We must] strive to train socialist builders and successors with a well-rounded education” and that “[We must] improve the system of Party building in colleges and universities…[and] enhance the political function of grass-roots Party organizations.”
