CHINA-LEADERSHIP: CHINESE PRESIDENT ATTENDS 76TH UNGA DEBATE VIA VIDEO

The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman announced (September 20) that Chinese President Xi JInping will attend the General Debate of the 76th UN General Assembly by video on September 21 and delivered an "important speech".
A People's Daily article on September 21 commented that "This epidemic has inspired us that we live in a global village that is interconnected and we share weal and woe. All countries are closely connected, and mankind shares a common destiny." It said "At a time when the new crown pneumonia epidemic is fluctuating, the world economic recovery is difficult and tortuous, and the international order is evolving deeply and complexly, the report's initiative to strengthen global solidarity and cooperation and create a better future reflects the efforts of people of all countries .... To build a community with a shared future for mankind, we must strengthen global anti-epidemic cooperation. This is the most urgent task at present".  It added "To build a community with a shared future for mankind, we must constantly improve global governance, which is the guarantee of common development and progress. The world has entered a period of turbulent change, and uncertainty and uncertainty have risen significantly. Where human society goes depends on current actions". In conclusion it said "China will take this as a new starting point and join hands with other countries to make new contributions to world peace and tranquility, global development and prosperity, and exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations, so that the sun of building a community with a shared future for mankind will shine throughout the world".
