On September 24, Chinese President Xi Jinping addressed the 2021 Zhongguancun Forum in
Beijing via video. A CCTV report said he pointed out that at present, the world's major changes
unseen in a century are accelerating, the impact of the new crown pneumonia epidemic is
widespread and far-reaching, and the world economic recovery is facing severe challenges.
Countries around the world need to strengthen scientific and technological open cooperation and
jointly explore ways to solve important global problems through scientific and technological
innovation. Xi Jinping emphasized that Zhongguancun is China's first national independent
innovation demonstration zone, and the Zhongguancun Forum is a national-level platform for
global scientific and technological innovation exchanges and cooperation. The 2021
Zhongguancun Forum in Beijing was co-sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology,
the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Association for Science and Technology, and the
Beijing Municipal People's Government.
