He has been a visiting scholar at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Keio University in Japan, Georgetown University in the U.S.A. and at the University of Munich in Germany. Apart from Fudan, Prof. Lin is also a guest researcher at Shanghai CCP College and the Shanghai Administration Institute, and Vice Chairman of the Academic Committee of the Institute of East Asia, Shanghai. ).
