CHINA-GERMANY: GERMAN NAVY FRIGATE 'BAYERN' PASSES THROUGH SOUTH CHINA SEA

Associated Press reported (November 9) that commenting on the German frigate Bayern's passage through the South China Sea, Germany's Navy Chief Vice Admiral Kay-Achim Schonbach said the frigate’s dispatch was to show support for Japan, the US, and other partners. He underscored Germany's concerns that freedom of navigation and the rule-based international order were being threatened in the region, apparently referring to its biggest trading partner, China.
