CHINA-LEADERSHIP: PREMIER LI KEQIANG CHAIRS SYMPOSIUM OF TOP CHINESE ECONOMIC EXPERTS AND BUSINESS LEADERS

Chairing a symposium of economic experts and business leaders on November 18, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang listed the challenges that have impacted China’s economy this year. These included COVID-19 outbreaks; Heavy flooding; Rising commodities prices; and Energy supply. He said the government proposes to meet these challenges by“Making macro policies more forward-looking and targeted, promoting reform and opening up…and maintaining stability in employment.”

(Comment: This regular meeting affords Li Keqiang an opportunity to get a feedback and suggestions from top advisors before setting the 2022 economic policy agenda at December’s Central Economic Work Conference.)
