Guangming Daily (December 30) published an article by former Exec. Vice President of the Central Party
School and currently Member of the 13th NPC Standing Committee and Chairman of the Social Construction
Committee titled 'The core of leadership and innovative theory of the Communist Party of China'. The article,
which contained 21 references to Xi Jinping, stressed that "resolutely safeguarding the party’s core leadership
and the authority of the party’s central committee is the fundamental political advantage for the success and
continued success of the Communist Party of China in its century-long struggle. It is a major political
principle related to the fundamental, directional, and overall nature of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese
nation. It must be doubled and cherished and persisted with for a long time." It observed that "The Communist
Party of China is China's highest political leadership, at the top of China's political structure and at the hub
of political operations. It is the leader of China's political direction, the leader of the political system, the
decision maker of major decisions, and the leader of national governance." It added "General Secretary Xi
Jinping is exactly the core of the party who has passed the test of history, practice test, and struggle experience.
The Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Party clearly pointed out in the form of the
historical resolution of the party’s century of struggle: the party’s establishment of Comrade Xi Jinping’s
core position of the Party Central Committee and the core position of the whole party, and establishing the
guiding position of Xi Jinping’s thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era reflects the
common aspiration of the entire party, the entire army, and the people of all ethnic groups in the country is
of decisive significance for the development of the party and state undertakings in the new era and for
advancing the historical process of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation."
