The PBSC held a meeting throughout the day on January 6 to listen to the work reports of the NPC Standing
Committee, the State Council, the CPPCC National Committee, the Supreme People's Court, Supreme
People's Procuratorate, and the work of the Central Secretariat. CCP Central Committee General Secretary
Xi Jinping presided over the meeting and delivered an important speech. The meeting also emphasised that
the CCP CC Secretariat should strengthen the "four consciousnesses", strengthen the "four self-confidences",
and achieve the "two maintenances". It focussed also on the Politburo and PBSC and said they should focus
on their own responsibilities and implement it well, carry out in-depth investigation and research, and
complete the various tasks assigned by the Party Central Committee.
