CHINA-PLA: PLA UNITS PROMPTLY COMMENCE TRAINING AFTER CMC CHAIRMAN XI JINPING ISSUES NEW TRAINING AND MOBILISATION ORDER

Chinese President and Chairman of the Central Military Commision Xi Jinping signed the Central Military Commission's Order No. 1 of 2022 which is a Training and Mobilisation order requiring the entire Army "to comprehensively promote the transformation and upgrading of military training, and to train elite soldiers who can fight well." It said the elite soldiers must be trained and toughened during the winters. The PLA Daily reported that PLA units like a Combined Brigade of the 82nd Group Army, a new Destroyer Detachment of the PLA Navy in the Southern Theatre Command and a fighter jet from a Brigade of the Air Force Aviation Corps in the Western Theater Command, a Regiment of the Joint Logistics Support Force, a Brigade of the PLA Strategic Support Force in Xinjiang, a Missile Brigade of the PLA Rocket Force in the mountains, and an Armed Police Guangdong Corps, all commenced training on January 4 in compliance with the mobilization order. The article said "our army should be based on today's war, make training content consistent with combat tasks, condition setting and battlefield environment, and training standards and combat requirements". It emphasised knowing your enemy and exhorted "Keep an eye on your opponent. Who is the opponent determines the training direction. If you don't know your opponent, how can you counter it?
