On January 18, CCP CC General Secretary Xi Jinping delivered an "important" speech at the Sixth Plenary
Session (January 18 to 20, 2022) of the 19th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, where he once
again talked about "self-revolution". Xi Jinping once again warned the whole party at the Plenary Session of
the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection: "We must be soberly aware that the battle of corruption
and anti-corruption is still going on fiercely, with Some new phased features". Emphasising the seriousness
of the situation, he said the Party has four "long and heavy tasks" and the first one is "to prevent all kinds of
interest groups from ganging up, and 'hunting' corruption is still a long way to go". On January 20, Xinhua
released the communique of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Commission for Discipline
Inspection (CDIC). It said 125 CDIC members and 242 people attended the plenary meeting. The
communique urged CDIC cadres to "show no mercy to those who engage in political gangs, small circles,
and interest groups within the party, and strictly educate, manage and supervise young cadres. Efforts will
be made to investigate and punish the corrupt behaviour behind the disorderly expansion of capital and
platform monopoly, and cut off the link between power and capital". It also asked them to "deepen special
rectification of corruption in areas such as grain purchases and sales. Explore the implementation of a
"blacklist" system for bribers. Promote the "Skynet Action" and strengthen international anti-corruption
cooperation".
