CHINA-GERMANY: GERMAN CHANCELLOR SCHOLZ TO VISIT GERMANY ON NOVEMBER 3-4

After indicating on September 30 that German Chancellor Scholz would not be travelling to China, the German Chancellery announced on October 8 that Olaf Scholz’s trip to China is back on for November 3-4. The Chancellery has said that he will be taking an industry delegation with him. (Comment: The visit to China at this time when his top ministers are discussing ways to reduce Germany’s economic dependencies on China is an interesting choice. The dependence of  Germany's economy on China, exemplified by China accounting for 40 per cent of Volkswagen's total car sales and 50 percent of its total profits, would have been a major factor.)
