British police are investigating an assault on a protester who was beaten by several men after being dragged inside the grounds of the Chinese consulate in Manchester on October 16, during a demonstration against President Xi Jinping. Videoclips showing people beating the demonstrator flooded the social media in Britain. Reports identify the man kicking down the banner as Chinese Consul-General Zheng Xiyuan. The other Chinese diplomats are:Consul Gao Lianjia (高连甲); (unknown, probably a young staff); Counselor Chen Wei (陈伟); and Deputy Consul General Fan Yingjie (范映杰).
