On the first day of his visit to China, US Defence Secretary Chuck Hagel was taken aboard for a 2-hour tour of China's first aircraft carrier, the 'Liaoning', on April 7 at Qingdao.
He saw the medical facilities, living quarters and flight control station of the aircraft carrier and took a walking tour of the flight deck to see launch stations and other apparatus devoted to getting China’s fighter jets into the air.
